THE PEPPER SALT by Rounak Chaudhury

 THE PEPPER SALT

It was the year 1980 when US has already defeated Soviet Union in Ice hockey efficiently. Some young boys from the corner of downtown were trying to walk on a thin bamboo stick by balancing their body as they were ordered to do so by their teacher. The main reason behind this is that they were disturbing other children in the class. So the teacher decided to teach them a lesson by giving punishment to all; the naughty boys including a boy named Adrien. He was a multitalented boy with inborn skills.

Adrien’s friends objected their teacher named Byron, who in turn punished all those protesting boys severely. Byron was actually the Maths teacher of standard twelve but due to the absence of teacher in standard 10, he was instructed to take their class. There was always an atmosphere of fear and terror in his class. “History repeats itself” is genuinely shown and presented in this story.

Percy Byron had two sons, one younger brother, father and two mothers. His biological mother was a weaver, his brother was manager of a hotel named “South Park- Lenin Fort 23-

Code.” He used to love his family more than himself, especially his brother. He was even ready to sacrifice his own joy and self for the sake for him. But his brother’s business was undergoing huge loss.

Now let’s come back to the present story again, apart from Adrien all the boys fell down losing their equilibrium. From the beginning Byron was dead against Adrien so without even noticing he started throwing stones on Adrien so that he falls down and fails in the task appointed to him by Byron. God only knows why he is so weird against Adrien. Finally, he screamed at Adrien “you are such a naughty and foolish creature. You must get a worthy punishment.” Adrien tried to convince his teacher that it was not his fault but stubborn Byron didn’t want any lame explanation. Byron became furious and gave him double punishment. Adrien begged to his teacher to forgive him but Byron ignored and walked by giving a devilish smile.

All the boys including Adrien returned to their respective homes with a pale and gloom marked on their faces. Now Mr. Byron thought to visit his younger b rother’s resort on his way back to home. He was quite stunned seeing a VIP in their resort for the first time. The person (VIP) entered and ordered a dish of salmon and rice with pepper salt sprinkled on it. The waiter took the list over to the cook and warned him to do his task well as a VIP had entered their hotel for the first time. The cook tilted his head with a sign of nervousness on his face. Finally, the lunch was ready. But unknowingly he put salt in place of pepper in that dish, that was a huge mistake in his side.

When the guy ate that food, his mouth became very salty and he got furious at the cook and the hotel. Warned to band that restaurant. All cried but he was stubborn in his decision and decided to veto the hotel. How the pepper salt brought drastic change in life of a person. The pepper salt decreased the stability of Byron’s family.

Then that person went out of the hotel in a rough and vigorous manner but on his way, he noticed a small Dhaba with full of glittering lights and decoration outside. He decided to enter there as he was ravenous. He then stopped his car to enter. Coincidently the Dhaba was headed by Adrien’s father, then that VIP asked for the same dish with pepper salt sprinkled on it. Adrien’s father prepared that dish according to his will. The man was so impressed by the dish that he then granted 13 crores to that family and also the hotel that was owned by Byron and his brother and offered them the chance to work under him. All the members including Adrien worshipped the man and they luckily shifted to New York from that place.
