QUAGMIRE by Purbasha Chatterjee

QUAGMIRE

The ostentatious valour,

Coloured the sky with hope;

The eternal war –

The race against aeon,

Reverberating through the walls,

Of veracity.

The tale behind one generation is,

The replica of the other;

But infant hands bequeath,

Unfinished dreams.

Feet incarcerated in the quagmire,

Of decision and enmity.

The throng of various ranks,

Thinned out.

The pride lay with a lifeless simper;

Serendipity was sketched in the canvas,

Of triumph.

The flute symphonized the breeze;

The sky was hued,

With Eudaimonia.
